The running craze that swept the world this year has been reaffirmed.

According to the '2024 Garmin Connect Data Report" released by Garmin on the 24th, track learning during outdoor activities this year has risen 65% year-on-year as a result of analyzing the health and fitness activities of people around the world through its products. This was followed by a 38% increase in e-bikes and a 30% increase in climbing. Indoor high-intensity interval training (HIIT) increased by 56%, followed by Pilates (42%) and Indian climbing (31%).

The report showed that Koreans walk 9210 steps a day, with the average number of Garmin users worldwide taking more steps per day than 8317. Hong Kong users walked the most with 10,340 steps per day, while Indonesia walked the least with 5,375 steps.

In training readiness, which evaluates whether the body is ready for high-intensity exercise, Korea scored an average of 51, showing relatively low training readiness compared to global users. The global training readiness score average was 60, and New Zealand users were most prepared for exercise with 64. Garmin believed that these results suggest that Korean users may need more low-intensity exercise.

Meanwhile, the global average of the 'body battery' score, which represents an individual's energy level during the day, was 71, with the Netherlands having the highest body battery score average of 74. The country with the lowest score was Japan (66 points). In the case of Korea, the highest average was 68 points, slightly less than the global average.

In terms of sleep quality, Korea scored 66 points, five points lower than this year's global average of 71. The highest country was the Netherlands (73 points), and the lowest was Indonesia (64 points).

However, the global average of stress levels measured by the Garmin Watch was 30, while Korea recorded 28 points, which was confirmed to be the lowest in the world. Malaysia (33 points) was the region with the highest stress.
