'2024 Daejeon Special FX Festival' is held

The '2024 Daejeon Special FX Festival' will be held from September 20 to 22 at KAIST and Daejeon's original city center. Expectations are high on which stars will win the Daejeon Over-The-Top Awards/hereinafter 'Daejeon OTT Awards' as an additional event.
Since 2012, Daejeon City has held 'Daejeon Drama Festival'Apan Star Awards' for the development of the local video industry. According to the government's policy to foster a special video hub city, the scale has been expanded to be held from 2019 to the Daejeon Visual Art Tech Awards' and from 2023 to the Daejeon Special Film Festival'. As this year's 'Daejeon OTT Awards', which will be held as an auxiliary event of the 'Daejeon Special Film Festival', is an event that inherits the previous large award ceremony event, it is expected that a surprising star will win again this time.
At the previous Daejeon Drama Festival, top stars such as Son Hyun-joo, Song Joong-ki, and Kim Nam-joo were honored with the award. In addition, Song Hye-kyo, Lee Joon-ki, and Lee Bo-young (both 2013), Jo In-sung and Kim Hee-sun (both 2014) were awarded at the A-pan Star Awards, and numerous top stars have been called winners at the awards ceremony, the predecessor of the event. The Daejeon OTT Awards, which will be held this year, will award 14 categories, including the acting award and this year's special effects award.
In addition to the Daejeon OTT Awards, the '2024 Daejeon Special Film Festival' will prepare various programs such as screenings, GV commentaries, video industry experience exhibitions, and seminars to meet citizens.
Lee Eun-hak, president of the Daejeon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency, who is in charge of the event, said, "Daejeon City is the best place for special videos such as studio cubes, technology in Daedeok Special Zone, and excellent human resources in local universities. We plan to invest 147.6 billion won by 2027 to create a convergence special video content cluster and build an ecosystem for the special video industry, and as part of this, we will do our best to help the Daejeon Special Film Festival grow on a larger scale." he said.
