Moon Yoo-gang met with this newspaper at the Sports Chosun headquarters in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul on the 5th, saying, `I met with the audience for the first time through a screen, not a play,' and `I gained a lot of good energy while performing on stage.'
'Hijacking' is a film about extreme conditions caused by air hijacking over Korea in 1971, and is Kim Sung-han's directorial debut.
Mun Yu-kang is taking on a feature film for the first time through 'Hijacking'. He said "I was happy and embarrassed because it was the first time I greeted you with 'actor Moon Yoo-gang' on a screen, not a performance."
In particular, he attended a total of 169 stage greetings with directors and actors and communicated closely with the audience. Moon Yu-gang thanked the audience for enthusiastically responding when he went to the stage greeting after the movie. Recalling the casting process, "I haven't appeared in many works so far, but most of the works recognized by many people are 'Itaewon Class". I think I became an imprint because I came out as a bad character at least in volume than other works (laughs). The director was also aware of me after seeing me on 'Itaewon Class'. At that time, the writer showed the live video of my play to the director, saying, `There's a friend who plays like this.' In fact, all the passengers in our movie were selected through auditions. I heard that the director watched the video of the Seoul Independent Film Festival monologue and casted it, or was introduced through seniors who were playing and auditioned. Later, when the character Changbae had not yet decided which actor would play, he said he wanted to see me. I think a person named me was curious before casting."
