Season 2 of 'Pachinko', which received global acclaim for its intensely resonant story and the actors' passionate performances, has released a trailer featuring Blackpink Rosé's rendition of 'Viva La Vida'.

Warmly capturing a large-scale narrative, 'Pachinko' is a story that begins with forbidden love and chronicles unforgettable themes of war, peace, love, separation, victory, and judgment between Korea, Japan, and the United States. The series, praised by critics for depicting the hopes and dreams of Korean immigrant families who left their homeland with an indomitable will to survive and prosper, released the trailer for Season 2 on July 23.

Set in Osaka in 1945, the trailer features the reunion of Sunja (Kim Min-ha) and Han-su (Lee Min-ho), along with new faces such as Kim Sung-kyu, drawing significant attention. Additionally, Blackpink Rosé's reinterpretation of 'Viva La Vida', which has topped music charts worldwide, is used in the trailer and will also be the ending song of this episode, enhancing the emotional impact of the finale.

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, 'Pachinko' tells the story of a Korean immigrant family from Korea in the early 1900s to Japan in the 1980s through the eyes of a mother who strives to live proudly in an unfamiliar land. Season 2 begins in Osaka in 1945, during World War II, focusing on a Zen master making dangerous choices to protect her family. It also intersects with the story of Solomon (Jin Ha) starting anew in Tokyo in 1989, and the elderly Sunja (Youn Yuh-jung) who worries about her grandson.

Season 1 of 'Pachinko', produced in Korean, Japanese, and English, has been highly successful, winning 11 major awards worldwide, including the Critics Choice Awards and Gotham Awards. Season 2 features returning main characters Lee Min-ho, Youn Yuh-jung, Kim Min-ha, Jin Ha, Anna Sawai, Jung Eun-chae, Arai Soji, and Han Jun-woo, who will deliver enthusiastic performances.

Season 2 of 'Pachinko' was produced by Media Res and written and produced by its executive producer Soo Hugh. Media Res' Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer, along with Blue Marble Pictures' Theresa Kang-Lowe, are also executive producers. Directors Kogonada, Justin Chon, and Lee Sang-il contribute to the season, heightening expectations.

Consisting of eight episodes, Season 2 of 'Pachinko', which has received rave reviews for its deeply Korean story, will release one episode each week on Apple TV+ starting August 23 and concluding on October 11.
