The disaster movie 'Escape: Project Silence' (hereinafter 'Escape', directed by Kim Tae-gon, produced by Vlad Studio) revealed the behind-the-scenes story of the birth of the experimental dog character Echo, which increased the immersion of the work.

Director Kim Tae-gon, who said he was chased by 20 wild dogs during a walking tour from Mokpo to Seoul in his 20s, came up with the idea of 'escape' from his experience of extreme fear at the time, even though he usually likes dogs.

The design of the experimental dog Echo, which was one of the pillars of the entire VFX of 'escape', reportedly referred to the Cane Corso breed, which has a good physique and solid muscle. By substituting a set-up manipulated for military purposes, an echo of a daunting aura with a bulked-up body, threatening teeth, and more powerful power and speed could be born.

In particular, CG Supervisor Song Yong-gu, who said that he put his heart and soul into expressing the dog, which has become a familiar being in our daily lives, as an object of fear, said, `We studied all the various videos related to the movement of the dog, started working four to five months before filming, designed the appearance and skeleton, brought the dog to the set, observed it, and reflected it in the movement implementation.'

At the filming site, a martial arts team led by martial arts director Lee Kun-moon trained dogs' movements for months on behalf of Echo, wearing blue suits, and walking four feet several times from catching the eyes of actors, cameras, and Echo, making the movement of 'Echo' more concrete. The actors also showed their imagination when they saw a martial arts team in a dog model or blue suit, and did everything from acting surprised and shouting to action scenes, as well as filming the same scene several times for CG work.

Director Kim Tae-gon thanked the production team and actors for making him a living and breathing character in the movie despite being 100% CG.

'Escape' is a story of people struggling to survive out-of-control military experimental dogs released on the airport bridge on the verge of collapse after a series of crashes in thick fog. The late Lee Sun-kyun, Joo Ji-hoon, Kim Hee-won, Moon Sung-geun, Jesus Jung, Kim Tae-woo, Park Hee-bon, Park Joo-hyun, and Kim Soo-an appeared, and director Kim Tae-gon of 'Goodbye Single' took the megaphone.
