Disney+'s original series 'The Tyrant' revealed director Park Hoon-jung's question-and-answer interview.

'tyrant' is a chase-action thriller series about the last sample of 'tyrant program' disappearing in a delivery accident, and then people who gather to occupy it for different purposes chase and chase each other. Coach Park Hoon-jung is successfully expanding his unique world view and arousing a favorable response from fans.

- How did you create the 'tyrant'.

▶ I wanted to tell a story that was an extension of the series Witch. It can be seen as the first step toward expanding that world view. The series 'tyrant' and 'witch' is a story that takes place together within the same worldview, and on the other hand, it is a story of forces standing at opposite points. Through 'tyrant', I wanted to draw the differentiated action of each force made up of various characters.

- How do you feel about presenting your first series production through Disney+.

▶ First of all, it was good that it was more free in terms of format and level, and after the release, it was new and grateful to be able to meet more diverse and more viewers. Various characters appear in 'tyrant', and the series format allowed us to shed more light on the charm of each character.

- If you could give a brief introduction to the world view of the 'tyrant'.

▶ The `tyrant' and `witch' series are part of the world view, respectively. In the future, these stories may touch each other, and new stories may come out of the world. I hope viewers can have fun looking forward to the upcoming works.

- It consists of a four-part chapter from the scenario to the finished version. Why did you choose this plot configuration.

▶ 'tyrant' is the story of those chasing the last sample of the disappeared 'tyrant program'. I wanted to add to the fun of watching through a step-by-step chase. In addition, since it is a story with various characters, I thought it was easy to distinguish and show the narratives of each character in detail.

- The differentiated action for each sequence is impressive. If there's a part that you focus on filming the action.

▶ The point of the action scene of 'Vigil' (Cho Yoon-soo) was to follow the movement of 'Vigil' (Jo Yoon-soo), who visited 'Han Bear' (Lee Seung-kyung) in the factory to find out the behavior of Part 3 'Moyong' (Moo Jin-sung). The camera tried to show her fast and accurate movements without moving away from 'vigilant' as much as possible. The action scenes of Part 4 'Clinical'(Cha Seung-won) and 'Vigil' added a flicker of lighting to the hallway space, maximizing the tension between the two and the speed of the action. The camera was continuously photographed while rotating as close as possible to the two actors. Like the tango actors. The action scenes of the second half of the fourth part 'Vigil' and 'Crocodile'(Justin Harvey) tried to peak the moment when the speeds of 'Vigil' and 'Crocodile' collided, as it was a power-to-power confrontation.

- Most of the places in the work are old and the traces of time are felt.

I didn't find an old place in particular, but I think I was able to show the long history of 'tyrant program' and how many different characters are intertwined as much as that time.

- If you could introduce the whole music concept of 'tyrant'.

▶I asked the music director Mogg for music that would maximize the pleasure of the genre. 'tyrant' contains a variety of genres, from action to political thriller elements and humorous parts. The important thing was to bring out the genre appeal as much as possible. I tried to use music that emphasized the charm of each genre, that is, tension, speed, and pleasure.

- Why did you cast rookie Cho Yoon-soo and if you asked the actor for a double personality character.

▶ When writing a scenario and creating a character, I imagine a clear image and try to cast an actor who matches that image as much as possible. So it takes a considerable amount of time to cast a new actor in each work. In the play 'Vigil' is a well-known but mysterious character in many ways. I thought that the actor who plays this character should be that kind of actor, and actor Cho Yoon-soo fit the image of 'Vigil'.

The dual personality of 'Vigilant' is also linked to adaptability to tyrants. From an actor's point of view, playing a dual personality character is a big challenge, and playing another personality with one face would have never been easy. I thought it would be difficult for viewers to immerse themselves in if it felt contrived, so I demanded a natural transformation of personality as if the two characters were talking. Actor Cho Yoon-soo pulled it off well.

- Cha Seung-won, Cha Seung-won, Kim Sun-ho and Kim Kang-woo, the actors who worked on previous films, and how did you feel about working again.

▶ Unlike other figures involved in the program 'tyrant', the driving force behind 'clinical' is rather modest. It had to be expressed as a character with a different texture from 'Choi Jang-guk'(Kim Seon-ho) and 'Paul'(Kim Kang-woo), and in the process came to have a unique charm. I thought there was no actor who could pull off 'clinical' like actor Cha Seung-won. The tone and manner of the overall work was heavy, so he needed a role to evoke the atmosphere, and in that sense, he is the right person to set the center of gravity well. He is an actor who wants to continue to communicate and work in the future, following the 'Night of Paradise'tyrant'.

'Choi Gukjang' is a very multi-layered character who is sometimes like a slick on the outside, shows a cruel and cool-headed side for goals and philosophy, and behind it, anguish, sadness, and atonement coexist. Actor Kim Sun-ho is an actor who clearly expresses his determination and does not lose the power to express his inner anguish. Although the character's tone was different, he discovered the aspect of 「Choi Director」 to actor Kim Sun-ho while working with 'Gwijongja' and casted it without hesitation. I didn't ask for anything in particular from the actor. I just enjoyed his delicate performance.

'Paul' is a powerful person who controls Korea's intelligence agencies and can express his or her feelings without filtering. There are cruel, outspoken and meticulous aspects. He is a person who stands at odds with 'Choi Guk-jang', and unlike 'Choi Guk-jang', he is straightforward and emotional. Actor Kim Kang-woo creates characters with his own charm no matter what role he throws. Always a reliable, wordless actor.

- The key point of directing 'tyrant' is.

▶ Rather than trying to convey a special message, I focused on delivering genre pleasure. I want the viewers to enjoy it completely. The emphasis was on how each character would show their own position and relationship, their own action, and the action of 'tyrant'. The most important thing was 'fun'.

- What scene do you want to recommend to the viewers the most.

▶ The action scenes of 'Vigil' and 'Clinical' encountered in the corridor of the fourth-part club. The action of the two characters feels like tango. It would be more interesting to compare with the action of 'Vigilant' leading up to the second half. For future rice cakes, it would be good to keep an eye on the ending.

- Lastly, please say something to Disney+ viewers around the world.

▶ I'm very excited and happy to meet Disney+ viewers with 'The Tyrant' It's a work that I worked hard with good actors and staff. I hope you enjoy watching it.
