Jung Hae-in’s Charisma Shines in ‘Love Next Door’

tvN’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama, 'Love Next Door' (directed by Yoo Je-won and written by Shin Ha-eun), is set to premiere on August 17th. 

On August 1st, the show released a still cut featuring Jung Haein as the intriguing character Choi Seung-hyo, a multifaceted figure whose life is central to the drama’s plot.

'Love Next Door' is a romantic comedy that explores the tumultuous relationship between a woman striving to restart her chaotic life and her connection with her ‘mom friend’s son’. The story follows Choi Seung-hyo (played by Jung Haein) and Bae Seok-ryu (portrayed by Jung So-min), who, after intersecting paths, delve into each other’s pasts, creating a narrative full of laughter and heartfelt moments. This drama marks the reunion of director Yoo Je-won and writer Shin Ha-eun, known for their previous success with 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha', further heightening anticipation.

As Jung Hae-in’s first foray into the romantic comedy genre, expectations are particularly high. He portrays Choi Seung-hyo, an accomplished architect whose life seems perfect on the surface but is set to be tested with the reappearance of past issues. In the released photos, Jung Hae-in’s character is seen in a sharply tailored suit, showcasing his professional success and exuding a charming presence. The character’s backstory includes a former career as a promising swimmer, adding a layer of intrigue to why Choi Seung-hyo left his dreams behind.

Jung Haein shared that he was drawn to the script’s compelling story and was eager to work with director Yoo Je-won and co-star Jung So-min. Reflecting on his role, he mentioned, “Choi Seung-hyo is a character with a strong international presence. Immersing myself in the script, I found myself naturally building, imagining, and portraying the character.” He also expressed his excitement about venturing into romantic comedy, noting the enjoyable and positive energy on set.

'Love Next Door' will air its premiere episode on August 17th at 9:20 p.m. on tvN.
