tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama 『Jeongnyeon』 (written by Choi Hyo-bi, directed by Jung Ji-in) depicts the competition, solidarity, and brilliant growth period immediately after the Korean War in the 1950s, a poor but romantic era, and a 'natural sound genius" challenging the best national drama actor.
Based on the Naver webtoon of the same name (writer Seo Yire/Namon), 'Jungnyeoni' has drawn great attention since the news of the production was made public with a fresh subject called Women's Gukgeuk (a branch of Changgeuk that gained huge popularity around the Korean War in the 1950s, where all the roles are played by women), and the main character 'Jungnyeoni's journey to overcome her limitations and become a star of the Gukgeuk Company.
