CJ 4DPLEX announced on the 4th that BTS RM's first documentary film 'RM: Light People, Long Place' was selected as an official invitation to the 29th Busan Film Festival 'Open Cinema'. CJ 4DPLEX was responsible for the global distribution of the film.
The Busan Film Festival Open Cinema section is a section that presents new works that combine cinematic quality and popularity among the festival's invited films and topical films that have attracted international attention, and will be screened at the outdoor theater of the Seoul Cinema Center. The film 'RM: Light People, Long Place' features the production of his second solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person', released in May. The film adds meaning to the record of exploring itself by constantly agonizing between BTS leader RM, solo artist RM, and human Kim Nam-joon, while also embodying the sensuous visual beauty that was well received through the music video of the solo album, giving the impression of watching an art film.
Director Lee Seok-jun, who was involved in the production of the music video for 『Arson" and"MORE" for the double title track of BTS J-Hope's solo album 『Jack In The Box" was directed by the megaphone. In commemoration of the festival's invitation, a special poster for the festival with an artistic atmosphere will also be presented.
The film 'RM: Light People, Long Place', which will debut at the Busan Film Festival, will be officially presented to audiences through theaters around the world later. Information on the opening of reservation and screening of the Busan Film Festival of RM: Light People, Long Place can be found later on the official channel of BTS, the official channel of CJ 4DPLEX, and the official website of the Busan Film Festival.
"It is very meaningful that "RM: Light People, Long Place" will be the first K-pop documentary film to have a large-scale outdoor screening at the Busan Film Festival," said Seo Gye-won, GM of HYBE Media Studio, who produced the film. ""We hope that RM's true inner self will be captured without making any difference, and that director Lee Seok-joon's sensuous and fresh visual beauty will be added to convey sympathy to the audience as a new and complete work has been created."
