On the afternoon of the 5th, a press preview was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for the Wave New Classic project series 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon 2024' (played by Kim Do-woo, directed by Kim Yoon-chul). The premiere was attended by Kim Sun-ah as Kim Sam-soon in a professional pastry that truly loves making bread, cookies and cakes, Jeong Ryeo-won as Yoo Hee-jin, the beautiful first love of Hyun Jin-heon (Hyun Bin), and producer Kim Yoon-chul.
Jeong Ryeo-won heard the remastering of the work while he was resting. There was a precursor symptom because the SNS feed kept showing 'My name is Kim Sam-soon'. I thought you were green in the past, but I was glad to hear that I could see you again. This was my first mini-series. It felt so new and I wanted to see it again" he expressed his emotion.
He says "It's a long tunnel-like work. I did military drama and morning drama at the time, but I really wanted to do a miniseries. I kept failing auditions. Lastly, I couldn't put on makeup and auditioned in my clothes. At that time, I was so tired of auditioning that I answered curtly, but it was the first time the PD offered me a proposal. It was such a dream. To me, PD Kim Yoon-chul was like the light of the world. I walked around in amazement at the scene. I've already been successful with just being able to play a miniseries, but haven't I received a lot of love again? I think I've been able to get along well so far with the good heart of that time,' he said.
The drama is about the life and love of Kim Sam-soon, a 30-year-old woman who lives proudly as a professional pastry chef, although she has a fat appearance complex and a ridiculous name. Actors Kim Sun-ah, Hyun Bin, Jung Ryeo-won and Daniel Henney appeared, and Kim Do-woo wrote the script and Kim Yoon-chul directed it. It is a remastered work of 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon' that aired on MBC in 2005 for the first time in 19 years, and will be released on Wave on the 6th.
