Japanese background mid 'Shogun' swept the Emmy Award for winning 18 awards

The American drama 'Showgun' drew great attention by sweeping major categories at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards.

At the Emmy Awards held at the Pikok Theater in Los Angeles on the 15th (local time), 'Shogun' won a total of 18 awards, including best picture for a drama series, best director, best actor (Hiroyuki Sanada), and best actress (Sawaii Anna). This is a new history as a non-English-speaking drama.

'Shogun' is based on James Clavel's novel of the same name, about a 17th-century Japanese political conspiracy, with the majority of the lines in Japanese and subtitles on Disney-affiliated FX channels in the United States. Most of the cast were Japanese, and Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai made history by winning the Emmy Award for Best Lead Actor for the first time as a Japanese actor.

CNN in the U.S. raised expectations for future seasons as 'Shogun' sweeps major Emmy categories with non-English-speaking series" he evaluated. In particular, Hiroyuki Sanada was honored as the second Asian actor to win the Best Actor Award.

In the comedy series category, 'The Bear' won 11 awards, while 'Baby Rainier' won major awards in the miniseries category. Jodie Foster won the miniseries Best Actress for 'True Detective: Night Country" and won an Oscar and an Emmy.

Among the works of Korean and Korean actors, the award failed. Director Park Chan-wook's 'Co-worker' and the documentary 'Beyond Utopia' were nominated but did not win.
