The production presentation of Netflix's new original entertainment series 'Black and White Cooks: A War of Cooking Classes' was held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 11th. PD Kim Hak-min, PD Kim Eun-ji, Jongwon Baek, and judges Ahn Sung-jae attended the event.
Black and white chefs' is an entertainment show about 100 chefs who compete fiercely against Korea's top star chefs'Black and White chefs' battle with each other.'Black and White chefs' began with the question of who would win if the owner of a local restaurant and Michelin star chefs' fought only with'taste'. In a world of taste without answers, 100 unknown and famous chefs will stage a brutal cooking battle with their class pride.
It is expected to be a new cooking competition entertainment program by producer Kim Hak-min, who created 'Sugarman' and'Singer Gain'. Producer Kim Hak-min said, `In the initial planning stage, I started with a plan to plan a cooking survival where 100 unknown chefs join at once, and I'm talking with Netflix, and these days, viewers are pursuing one more clear point, and a program with a scale of 100 people is good, but I thought there would be an impact on a program with one point. If the owner of the restaurant and the Michelin chef compete in front of my house, who will win? Why don't we expand the competition between an unknown chef who knows no one, but a famous chef who knows everyone knows. From there, I tried to expand again and have a huge clash between the 'black spoon' and the 'white spoon'."
Producer Kim Eun-ji said, `The class war seems to be the biggest difference. Unexpected results came out as an unknown chef versus a famous chef. I think our own special narrative has been completed. I don't think anyone has seen this scale. It was a scale that 40 people could cook at the same time on a set of 1,000 pyeong. I thought a lot about the scale and made a lot of missions, but wouldn't these be missions that you can't see around the world. I think they'll be satisfied", he explained.

Baek Jong-won thought it would be "absolutely impossible" when he first heard the story, but in the end, Netflix raised its thumb, saying it did it. Jongwon Baek "Honestly, I heard the production team's intentions before recording and thought it was impossible. He has done various programs such as the Battle of Korean Food, but it is technically difficult. Food on site requires fire, water, and drainage. Even if there are only five people cooking, there is a problem with the water supply. I was pessimistic because 100 people thought it was really ridiculous, but it worked.
Now that the competition of all-time scale has been made, it's time to judge. It is said that Jongwon Baek and Ahn Sung-jae had a fierce screening competition to the point of shouting. The Jongwon Baek was "I almost got a slap in the neck and a loud voice"It's not a six-year-old, but a loud voice almost came out. Chef Ahn looks really calm, but he does kickboxing. I thought I was more stubborn than I thought. He is very stubborn, especially when it comes to food. I haven't been there, but I thought it would be like this if lawyers fight in court. When they advocate for good food, they talk about the shortcomings or mistakes of the food on the other side. It comes in with a technique. I'm using jargon because I'm afraid I won't understand it. I learned a lot, too. At first, I felt awkward because I didn't know each other, but once I do, I feel like I know the food so much that I don't have to go (to the restaurant you run)," he said, drawing laughter.
