The movie "Firefighter" is directed by Kwak Kyung-taek, who captures the sincerity of a true story. In fact, the story of the western fire station, which was dispatched to extinguish a fire in Hongje-dong in 2001, depicts an urgent scene containing the sweat and tears of firefighters who were deployed with a single goal of saving power in poor environments.

Previously, 'Firefighter' was preparing to be released in the crank-up year of 2020, but it became a big controversy when Kwak Do-won, the main character, was found to be drunk driving in September 2022. At that time, Kwak Do-won left a bar in Geumneung-ri, Hallim-eup, Jeju-si at around 4 a.m. on September 25 and drove more than 11 kilometers with a man who had been drinking with him in his SUV. Kwak Do-won's blood alcohol level was 0.158%, which was confirmed to be higher than the license cancellation level (0.08).

When the drunk driving incident became known, Kwak Do-won stopped all activities and moved out of Jeju Island. It is known that he stayed on Jeju Island for a while and then stayed in Malaysia and Southeast Asia to consider when to return.

'Firefighters' is a work depicting the situation of firefighters who were put in with a single goal of extinguishing fire and saving power even in poor conditions during the Hongje-dong fire disaster in 2001. Joo Won, Kwak Do-won, Yoo Jae-myung, Lee Yoo-young, Kim Min-jae, Oh Dae-hwan, Lee Joon-hyuk, and Jang Young-nam appeared, and director Kwak Kyung-taek of the `Friends' series grabbed the megaphone. It will be released in December.
