'Paik Jongwon's Les Misérables' Responds to Controversy Over Challenger with Criminal History

The ENA entertainment show 「Jongwon Baek's Les Misérables" expressed its position to make a judgment on the controversy over the appearance of a challenger who was a thief who was sentenced to No. 9.

On the 9th, an ENA official said "As there are many broadcasts left, I hope you can check the controversial parts of the cast through the broadcast."," he said.

The controversy began when the past stories of the challengers were mentioned in the second teaser video of 'Les Miserables' released on YouTube on the 7th. The video attracted the attention of Internet users with candid interviews with the challengers, such as "No. 9 Disposal Boy Stealer"Who's Been to the Fall""Daddy's mouth even called a "puppet."

'Jongwon Baek's Les Misérables' is an entertainment program about 20 challengers who dream of a change in their lives growing up through harsh survival missions under the guidance of Jongwon Baek and famous chefs. The production team plans to convey hope and emotion to viewers through the overcoming story and growth narrative of the challengers.

In particular, the appearance of a person with a history of '9 disposition' among the challengers is emerging as a problem. '9 Disposition' is a relatively serious disposition under the Juvenile Act and is sent to juvenile detention centers for up to six months. In response, some Internet users expressed concern, saying "Is it appropriate for a person with a criminal history to appear on the air?"

'Jongwon Baek's Les Misérables' will premiere at 8:30 p.m. on the 30th.
