Director Kim Hee-won, who first directed Disney+'s year-end anticipation film 『The Lighting Shop』, revealed the drama production process and his thoughts.

On the morning of the 3rd, a press conference for Disney+ 'Lightning Shop' was held at the Grand Ballroom of the COEX Convention Center in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Actors Joo Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, Kim Seol-hyun, Um Tae-gu, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Min-ha, Park Hyuk-kwon, Shin Eun-soo, and Kim Sun-hwa, as well as director Kim Hee-won and author Kang Pul, who wrote the script, were present on the day.

'Light Shop' is a drama about secret customers intertwining in the background of a shop that only lights up at the end of a dark alley. The completeness of the work was enhanced by deeply expanding emotions and relationships that were not contained in the original webtoon.

Director Kim Hee-won, who tried to direct for the first time, confessed that he had a lot of worries. He tried to embody the middle point between "real and fantasy"I designed the whole village and built the set with actual concrete. It allowed viewers to feel the vivid experience of walking in an alley", he explained.

Director Kim said he put a great emphasis on the story and emotion while preparing 'Light Shop'. He pondered how to make it fresher and more acceptable for the viewers"I focused on melting the narrative of the relationship and the narrative of the story." Also, thanks to the cooperation of actors and staff, I was able to relieve the burden," he said, expressing his gratitude.

Regarding his first production as a drama, not a movie, he said, `It is true that there was a lot of pressure,' adding that the biggest goal was to elicit a response from viewers that `I'm curious about the next episode.' Then "Everything was possible thanks to the actors and staff. Thanks to this, I was able to make a piece suitable for the warm end of the year."

A total of eight episodes of 'Light Shop' will be pre-released until the fourth episode on the 4th, and the two episodes will be released for each of the following two weeks.
