The production presentation of Genie TV's original 『Namib" (written by Lim Sung-min, directed by Han Sang-jae and Kang Min-gu) was held at The St. in Guro-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 16th. Director Kang Min-gu and Ryeo-woon, Yoon Sang-hyun and Lee Jin-woo attended the event.
Ko Hyun-jung, who was scheduled to attend on this day, was absent due to her sudden health deterioration. Two hours before the production presentation, the production team announced that `We inevitably decided not to participate in accordance with the medical staff's opinion that absolute stability and recovery are needed this morning.'
Director Kang Min-gu said at the production presentation that "There were some schedule difficulties about Ko Hyun-jung's health condition, and there were also some difficulties as Ko Hyun-jung tried in the field. Nevertheless, he confessed that he had never been in the middle of filming at the scene, and that it was a little more difficult to go there after finishing everything. We have two days left to shoot. Director Kang said, `I think actor Ko will do it until the end with his mental strength" he said.
'Namib' is expected to draw the history of growth by playing the star producer Kang Soo-hyun, who was fired, and the star producer Kang Soo-hyun, who was released, and the trainee Yoo Jin-woo, who was released by Ryeo-woon. In addition, there was a movement among netizens to find a connection with Ko Hyun-jung's life, as Lee Jin-woo, who will appear as his son, Shim Jin-woo, and his mother and son.
In response, director Kang Min-gu said, `We did not consider Ko Hyun-jung's actual life. When I first saw the character, I thought Ko was the strongest. I thought actor Ko was very appropriate to express charisma or delicacy. So I made a suggestion to actor Ko. I think this is what he said that the actor would be very charismatic in coming back after a few years."
Lee Jin-woo, who works together as a son, said "Since the first script reading, both of you are like dreams and sky-like seniors to me, so I couldn't help but be nervous. I think I was able to act comfortably because he made the atmosphere comfortable on the spot.
'Namib' will premiere at 10 p.m. on the 23rd.
