Producer Jang Si-won, who continues the series with "Maximum Rugby" following "Maximum Baseball", talked about the difficulties in the production process.

Producer Jang Si-won met with Sports Chosun at somewhere in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 19th and responded to an interview to commemorate the release of Netflix 'The Greatest Rugby'.

Released on the 10th, 'strongest rugby' is a sports survival entertainment show that shows the real game of rugby players who continue their desperate advances by throwing their whole bodies for the glory of victory.

From KEPCO, the strongest Korean rugby team in name and reality, where the entire team is a national team, to Hyundai Glovis, who achieved the dignity of his second consecutive victory in the 「Korea Super Rugby League」, POSCO E&C, the fundamental foundation of power rugby, the dark horse OK Eatman Rugby Team, the Korean Armed Forces athletic unit of the spirit of investigation and invincibility, Korea University, the top predator in the university league, and Yonsei University, a rugby powerhouse with 80 years of tradition, will compete fiercely.

Producer Jang said, `Rugby itself is an unfamiliar sport in Korea, so the whole process was headed to the ground," he recalled.

In particular, the production team had to learn everything from scratch because they had no experience in rugby broadcasting. Producer Jang called high school students playing rugby to an empty playground before filming and conducted a simulation. The camera team didn't know the rules of rugby, so they had to study together and take their own positions," he said.

The technical implementation of rugby was also difficult due to the special flow of the game and the sense of speed. "Unlike other sports, the situation changes quickly at once, so the biggest challenge was to get it on the screen," he said.

The production team also revealed a behind-the-scenes story that they tried to visit Japan to learn know-how in rugby broadcasting, but there was no significant income. Eventually, producer Jang and the production team created a new filming system that did not exist through constant meetings and simulations.

Producer Jang focused on explaining the rules that were essential so as not to miss the essence of the game, although he had to convey the rugby in an easy-to-understand manner. However, the key was to make it fun to watch the game even if you don't know the rules."

'The Greatest Rugby' is available on Netflix.
