On the morning of the 13th, an interview with Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' was held somewhere in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Producer Choi Yong-soo and producer Cho Hyo-jin, who produced the program, attended the meeting to tell stories about the program.
Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' is a growing soccer entertainment show in which retired legendary players gather as a team with general manager Park Ji-sung and manager Choi Yong-soo to try to play in the K League once again. Upon its first release, it has gained popularity through word of mouth centering on 'Chukdeok' and is drawing attention with 'Jungkkeu' entertainment that makes viewers' hearts hot.
Coach Choi Yong-soo commented on the public sentiment of 'Shooting Star"I decided to appear on the show because I wanted to convey a little bit of fun about soccer to the public who didn't enjoy it."It was meaningful to show retired players trying again through "Shooting Star". It was good to let the general public know why legendary players chose this challenge."
He also confessed his concerns at the time of the recruitment. He said "I wasn't very interested in appearing on the show because I'm a soccer player. The schedule was tight, and there was also a reluctance to the concept of soccer entertainment." However, he added that he changed his mind after meeting with producer Cho Hyo-jin. "I thought there might be a point to convey the real charm of soccer to the public." It is not just an entertainment show, but it is meaningful to show the process of preparing for the real game and welcoming the opponent."
It was also a great pleasure to take pictures with the players who were actually put into the game." Coach Choi said, `It was exciting to meet attractive players that I really wanted to bring. There were a lot of players with great potential, and I was able to double-check their efforts and enthusiasm after retirement." At the same time, he emphasized to the players that `Let's play free soccer, not competitive pressure,' and predicted that `there will be a lot to see in the rest of the episodes.'
Through the program, Choi said he wanted to capture the realistic concerns of soccer players. "There is still homework for players who have only played soccer for 30 years to live a second life. I wanted that part to get closer to the audience. "I wanted to show more fun and happy soccer, not just a fierce sport," he added.
Finally, director Choi said, `At first, I was worried about the genre of entertainment, but I also had fun while filming and the time came to be precious"I hope we can let the public know more about the authenticity and attractiveness of soccer."
Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' will be released every Friday at 8 p.m.
