Producer Park Jin-kyung explained about the planning process for season 2 that "I wanted to tell a more intense story under the theme of "Vaccine" (in season 2). "Season 1's performance was better than expected, so I received a proposal to produce season 2 on Netflix shortly after its release. After that, I started working right away without a break," he added.
Season 2 drew expectations for its bigger scale and enhanced location. Producer Park said "The production cost increased to less than 10%, but we managed it efficiently because we had production know-how."In season 1, we used a lot of special effects, but this time, we focused on location based on our experience in making Korean zombies. The filming location, which is decorated variously with marts, abandoned factories, and amusement parks, is the difference between season 2 and season 2.
Dex and Yook Sung-jae's chemistry became a hot topic. Producer Moon Sang-don said, "Dex and Yook Sung-jae called each other and naturally became close to each other during the shooting of Jeju Island."Dex has a strong personality, but it is well-melt into Sungjae's smooth personality. The two people's tiki-taka was particularly outstanding."
Jo Se-ho and Defconn's performances were also indispensable. Producer Moon said, `The two people's entertainment experiences shone on the spot. Cho Se-ho stood at the center and relieved the tension between the cast, and Defconn drew laughter with his unique immersion in the situation."
