On the morning of the 13th, an interview with Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' was held somewhere in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Producer Choi Yong-soo and producer Cho Hyo-jin, who produced the program, attended the meeting to tell stories about the program.
Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' is a growing soccer entertainment show in which retired legendary players gather as a team with general manager Park Ji-sung and manager Choi Yong-soo to try to play in the K League once again. Upon its first release, it has gained popularity through word of mouth centering on 'Chukdeok' and is drawing attention with 'Jungkkeu' entertainment that makes viewers' hearts hot.
Producer Cho Hyo-jin said on the recruitment process, "'It was when General Manager Park Ji-sung was staying in England, but he deeply sympathized with the purpose of the program.'" He wanted to promote soccer to more people, and he wanted to show not only the game, but also the communication and process of the players like locker room talk." he said.
In particular, general manager Park Ji-sung put great effort into the `youth soccer system.' Producer Cho stressed that the development of youth soccer is the future of Korean soccer. That's why young players appeared in every round. "
This characteristic also impressed director Choi Yong-soo. Coach Choi said, `I've thought that the players aged 18-19 are still incomplete physically and skillfully, but they showed amazing performance in the game. It was an opportunity to break stereotypes in my own way."
He also expressed his feelings about reuniting with Park Ji-sung as a general manager and a manager. Coach Choi said, `Park Ji-sung is a player who doesn't need words. "He knows exactly what he has to do and shows 120% of his performance on the field. It was impressive to see Park Ji-sung, who did not communicate much with the public after retirement, share candid opinions for the team's success through this program."."
On the other hand, when asked if Son Heung-min would like to be casted if he expressed his intention to join Shooting Star, PD Cho replied, `I want to believe it will happen very soon, but if that happens, I would like to invite him," he replied.
Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' will be released every Friday at 8 p.m.
