Actor Sung Joon expressed his feelings about joining the 「Fiery Death 2」.

Sung-jun recently met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Gangnam, Seoul, and "I was worried when I entered season 2 because the first season of 'Fiery Priest' went well." Outwardly, what I was concerned about was losing 12 kilograms of weight.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'The Fiery Priest 2' (scripted by Park Jae-beom, director Park Bo-ram), which ended on the 27th, is a story that takes place when Kim Hae-il (Kim Hae-il), a hot-tempered priest with a strong sense of justice, heads to Busan after a drug incident in Gudam-gu.

Season 2 will continue with the series as Season 1, which aired in 2019, gained huge popularity. Sung Joon played the role of Kim Hong-sik, a new member of season 2. Kim Hong-sik is a former voodoo of the Southeast Asian drug cartel 『Saman" and is the head of the Busan drug cartel 'the world's top-ranked powerhouse" who competes on an equal footing with Kim Hae-il.

Sung-joon first expressed regret in his closing remarks, saying that unexpected cancellations continued throughout the broadcast. "I didn't feel like I was pushing him with speed because there were many vacancies. I was hoping it would be finished soon, but I'm puzzled because the response is better than I thought."

At the same time, he expressed the burden of popularity and villainy in season 1. "Season 1 did so well that I was more worried than positive expectations. Since it is a main villain, I also thought that I should play a good role as a device to create weight. However, I felt a lot of pressure because I thought it would be neither this nor that. If the evil comes out too small or funny, I think it will break in the balance. Isn't it anyone's axis. There was a pressure that the story would collapse if the axis could not be held."

As such, I am curious about Kim Hong-sik interpreted by Sung-jun. "The character setting itself is a person who was sold when he was young. There will be perfume in Korea. I think there's going to be a compensation hearing. There seemed to be a desire for recognition to look healthy. In Laos, he was bloody, but I thought he was a person who wanted to look as good as in Korea. I don't have much desire for money. I thought I was also doing business to make the utopia I wanted."

It was also a point of concern for the 「Love Line」 with Park Kyung-sun (Lee Ha-ni), which could not be achieved. "I heard that I had a love line with Ha-ni, so I thought it would be fun, but I was worried a lot. I don't think it should be too broken. I thought about how to restrain Sung-jun because his attitude is stronger. Hong-sik seems to have felt like a mother to Kyung-won. There is a setting that the actual primary looks like Hong-sik's mother. Of course, I think there must have been some things that I fell in love with because of their beautiful appearance."

Since it is the best villain role of all time, he also paid attention to the external transformation. "I exercised a lot and managed my diet a lot. Oh, and I also tan a lot. He lost 12 kilograms at first, but he rebounded when he returned to Korea and started wearing suits. Still, he maintained the weight loss of 9kg. Actually, since it's a villain role, I thought about bulk-up, but the director said it would be better to lose it. I think you thought you wanted to feel hungry."
