KBS will cancel major entertainment programs during the national mourning period of the Jeju Air plane disaster and organize alternative programs with special broadcasts such as liberal arts and documentaries.
In the case of KBS1, the representative cultural program 'Morning Madang' will continue to be canceled this week. The longevity program 'National Singing Contest' was also canceled this week following last week in consideration of public sentiment over the massive disaster. Instead of being canceled, the atmosphere of remembrance will continue through alternative programs.
KBS2's on-site public recording of the program has been postponed due to the cancellation of 'The Seasons-Lee Young-ji's Rainbow' and 'Gag Concert' this week. KBS said it will seek understanding from the winners of the audience through separate guidance and try to minimize inconvenience.
