tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama Ask the Stars (written by Seo Sook-hyang and directed by Park Shin-woo), which will premiere on January 4, 2025, depicts the life of Boss Eve (Kong Hyo-jin) working at a zero-gravity space station and an uninvited dinosaur (Lee Min-ho) with a secret mission.
Amid questions about what kind of daily lives astronauts who go to work at the space station, which has a commuting distance of 200,000 kilometers, Kim Joo-heon (Park Dong-ah), Lee Cho-hee (Dona Lee), Lee Hyun-kyun (Han Si-won), and Park Ye-young (Mae Eun-soo) will meet as team members who support and communicate astronauts' missions on Earth to give off a cross-gravity teamwork.
First, Kim Joo-heon plays Park Dong-ah, a veteran astronaut who has been to the space station three times in the play. Park Dong-ah, who is about to move to a private aerospace company, is a simple personality without hesitation and a know-it-all playboy who instinctively pursues error and instability when dating. Attention is focused on the love trajectory of Park Dong-ah, who has a fatal charm like a black hole.
E.L. is charismatic as Kang Tae-hee, a world-famous female astronaut. Kang Tae-hee is the first Korean woman to become the deputy director of the International Institute of Space United (IOU) Space Center, which is not only capable but also driven. The leadership of the principleist Kang Tae-hee, who will lead the team based on the rules set as a solid wick, is drawing attention.
Lee Cho-hee shows off her hot energy as Donna Lee, a space doctor at a ground control center. Donna Lee, the twin sister of plant scientist Mina Lee (Lee Cho-hee), speaks frankly about her desires, unlike her younger brother. As Donna, who is secretly under stress, lives the same way as her brother in space, and is conducting experiments, curiosity grows as to whether the day will come when she will solve it.
Lee Hyun-kyun plays Han Si-won, a flight operation director belonging to the ground control center, and presents a delightful tiki-taka with astronauts. Han Si-won, who is in charge of the space station's operation technology such as tracking orbit, has the brightest eyes in the ground control center. I'm looking forward to meeting with Han Si-won, who will serve as a communication channel for spacewalks and ground control centers and boast nonstop talking.
Park Ye-young is Ma Eun-soo, the youngest member of the ground control center, adding vitality to the space office. Ma Eun-soo is paired with Eve Kim and Lee Seung-joon (Huh Nam-jun), who experiment with mice on the space station, to support their research. Attention is focusing on whether Ma Eun-soo, who is so serious about the experiment that he doesn't even go home, will be able to discover new possibilities with Eve Kim and Lee Seung-joon.
As such, the astronauts on Earth will continue their discoveries for the future of mankind by closely communicating with space scientists on the space station. Expectations are rising for what kind of chemistry astronauts at the Seoul Ground Control Center will show with the crew of the space station, which is far away.
tvN's new Saturday drama 「Ask the Stars」, which allows you to meet professional Earth astronauts with a full level of ability, will premiere at 9:20 p.m. on January 4.
