Producer Jang Si-won met with Sports Chosun at somewhere in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 19th and responded to an interview to commemorate the release of Netflix 'The Greatest Rugby'.
Released on the 10th, 'strongest rugby' is a sports survival entertainment show that shows the real game of rugby players who continue their desperate advances by throwing their whole bodies for the glory of victory.

Producer Jang Si-won showed the original charm of rugby and deep affection for the sport. He said "Rugby is a sport of forward and collision. It's a simple but intense tension, and it's a team sport with an instinctive charm at the same time." The raw and instinctive sports spirit, which is rare in recent sports, makes rugby even more attractive.
Especially for rugby players, producer Jang evaluated "These are people with pure passion that are rare these days." "I'm injured in the game, but I just like rugby, so I throw everything for my team's victory. Rather than prize money or honor, we just play for moments that advance and overwhelm."
The production team focused on capturing the sound of the scene in order to vividly convey the charm of rugby to viewers. Each player was equipped with a microphone to capture the sound of bone hitting and rough breathing. Chang said, `We put a lot of effort into realizing those creepy moments that we heard on the scene."
In fact, rugby is still an unfamiliar sport in Korea. The production team of `The Greatest Rugby' had to challenge themselves as if they were heading to Mendoza in order to gain filming know-how to capture the charm of the sport of rugby on camera.
Producer Jang said, `As I had no experience in rugby broadcasting, all the production team had to learn rugby from scratch. I tried to go all the way to Japan and learn know-how, but I didn't have much income and eventually called high school students in an empty playground to conduct simulations and figure out how to film," he recalled.

It was also a big challenge that the rules of the rugby game were complicated. Chang PD said "It was difficult to make all the rugby rules understood. Instead, the goal was to deliver only the core rules and make it fun to watch the game,' he explained.
He said "The attraction of rugby lies in the immersion of the game and the sheer passion of the players. This part was well implemented and directed so that viewers could naturally fall into it,' he added.
Through this program, Jang tried to capture the passion and romance of the players who were serious about rugby. He said "Rugby players don't pay. Throw yourself in for victory and commit to the team. This kind of image comes more romantic in today's world."
In particular, while filming the game, there were so many dramatic moments that I wondered if this could actually happen`"Viewers will also be able to feel the true human drama through the stories of the players behind the game.'
"The Strongest Rugby" showed the power to attract even viewers who were not familiar with rugby. Chang said, `I hope viewers will be drawn to the charm of rugby and touched by the passion of the players through this program,' adding, `I hope more people will see those seeking real passion than calculated values."
