On the morning of the 13th, an interview with Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' was held somewhere in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Producer Choi Yong-soo and producer Cho Hyo-jin, who produced the program, attended the meeting to tell stories about the program.

Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' is a growing soccer entertainment show in which retired legendary players gather as a team with general manager Park Ji-sung and manager Choi Yong-soo to try to play in the K League once again. Upon its first release, it has gained popularity through word of mouth centering on 'Chukdeok' and is drawing attention with 'Jungkkeu' entertainment that makes viewers' hearts hot.

For director Choi Yong-soo, 'Shooting Star' was more than just an entertainment appearance. Director Choi confessed that he was deeply concerned when he first received the offer. "I'm a soccer player, and I thought the broadcast should be done by real broadcasters. At first, I was not interested, but after hearing PD Cho Hyo-jin's intention to plan, I was confident that I would be able to let more people know the charm and emotion of soccer." In particular, he wanted to convey soccer to the general public more closely and familiarly through the stories of players who left the ground.

Through this program, Choi emphasized 'happiness football' and is shedding his existing image as a strong leader and showing a new appearance. "When I was a player or a coach, I played under intense competition and pressure. But he hoped that the players would regain their original enjoyment of soccer. It was important for all players to sweat and feel a sense of accomplishment as part of the team"He emphasized the value of "happiness football"." In particular, he led the team so that everyone could grow together, using replacements not to be left out. "Everyone should be happy whether they play or not. It is the charm of football in itself, that the team shares passion as one."

At the same time, Choi had a new experience of communicating with youth soccer players from the MZ generation through the appearance of 'Shooting Star'. "Young players are very confident and confident in their expressions," he said. I realized that I had to change as well,' he said, adding that he is learning and growing more through conversations with the younger generation. "The leader had to look at the whole thing and lead the team, and at the same time wanted the players to play with joy and excitement. In the process, I came to rethink what happiness soccer is,' he confessed.

Park Ji-sung's addition is also an important point of 'Shooting Star'. Park deeply sympathized with the purpose of the program and emphasized the importance of the youth system. Choi said, `Thanks to Park Ji-sung's proposal, the existing stereotypes were broken by training and playing games with youth players. The 18- and 19-year-old players' performance was better than expected. This experience will be a great asset for them as well," he said, expressing his expectations for the growth of youth players.

Producer Cho Hyo-jin said about the program, `Football is an attractive sport in itself, but I wanted to reach the audience by adding authenticity and story.' He emphasized the difference from existing soccer entertainment, saying, `I wanted to show the charm of real soccer by capturing the narrative until the goal and the characters of the players.' Coach Choi also said, `We are an entertainment show, but we prepared seriously for the game. The players' potential shone through the actual match against the strong opponent team, who is currently active."

'Shooting Star' offers retired players new opportunities for challenges while delivering football's essential impression to the public. Choi said, `Football is not just a sport. There is happiness in teamwork, challenge, and sweat together. Through this program, I hope that the players will regain the joy of soccer and that the viewers will take a step closer to soccer."

The program conveys another impression by capturing the concerns and reality of players who have to prepare for their second life after retirement. Coach Choi said, `Players who have only played soccer for more than 30 years have a heavy homework to find a new way. I wanted to support their challenge a little bit through Shooting Star"He expressed his deep affection for the players.

Expectations for season 2 are also rising as 'Shooting Star' has been successfully established. On recruiting Son Heung-min, Choi jokingly said, `It's not going to be easy realistically, but general manager Park Ji-sung will agree. If I have a chance, I want to make the best performance," he said, leaving a lingering impression.

Coach Choi Yong-soo showed his true leadership by building a new image as a leader through this 'Shooting Star'. "I wanted to be an enlightening leader rather than a scary and strict leader for the players. Times have changed, and I've realized that I have to change."

Coupang Play Entertainment 'Shooting Star' will be released every Friday at 8 p.m.
