According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater tickets on the 19th, 'Firefighters' (director Kwak Kyung-taek) attracted 812.3 million people the day before, ranking No. 1 in the box office for 15 consecutive days. The cumulative audience is 2,005,651.
Released on the 4th, 'Firefighter' is a story about firefighters who were deployed with a single goal of extinguishing fire and saving power despite poor conditions during the Hongje-dong fire disaster in 2001. Since 'Veteran 2' surpassed 2 million viewers on September 15, it is the first Korean film to surpass 2 million in 94 days, heating up the theater this winter.
Prior to this, director Kwak Kyung-taek suffered another crisis following the controversy over drunk driving by lead actor Kwak Do-won. Kwak Kyu-taek, a member of the People's Power who did not attend the first impeachment vote of the president of Yoon Suk Yeol, was found to be his younger brother, which caused public anger. Since then, head coach Kwak has also left a long message of heart through his official position.
'Mupasa: The Lion King' (director Barry Jenkins) came in second place with 44,986 viewers. The cumulative audience is 47,003. The third place was 'Crayon Shinobu Sasaki' (director Shinobu Sasaki), which attracted 34,944 visitors and attracted 43,077 viewers.
