Lee Byung-hun said at a production presentation for the second season of 'Squid Game' held at DDP Art Hall 1 in Dongdaemun, Seoul on the 9th, `If it's a functional role in season 1, the frontman warrior is explained in season 2.'
The 「Squid Game」 released in September 2021 is gaining global popularity at the syndrome level and is set to be released in season 2 on the 26th. Season 2 of the 'Squid Game' tells the story of a fierce battle between 'Gi-hoon" (Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the game after vowing revenge, and 'Frontman" (Lee Byung-hun), who greets him, and the real game begins again.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who became the first Asian to win the Best Director award at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, is directing, writing, and producing again, including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Gong Yoo, who returned from season 1, and Lim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Kyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Seo-hwan, and Jo Yu-ri, who are newly joining season 2.
Lee Byung-hun of the frontman, who took off his mask at the end of season 1, said "In season 1, the frontman existed as a functional role in overseeing and proceeding the entire game. In season two, the frontman's warrior is explained to some extent. "I'm trying to make you realize why I got to participate in the game like this, what kind of thoughts I have, and that the frontman thinks wrong from the standpoint of the frontman. "
Season 2 of Squid Game will be released on Netflix on Dec. 26.
