Actor Lee Jung-jae expressed the burden of releasing season 2 to the box office of Netflix 'Squid Game'.

Lee Jung-jae said at the production presentation for the second season of 'Squid Game' held at DDP Art Hall 1 in Dongdaemun, Seoul on the 9th, `Today's pressure has increased.'

The 「Squid Game」 released in September 2021 is gaining global popularity at the syndrome level and is set to be released in season 2 on the 26th. Season 2 of the 'Squid Game' tells the story of a fierce battle between 'Gi-hoon" (Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the game after vowing revenge, and 'Frontman" (Lee Byung-hun), who greets him, and the real game begins again.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who became the first Asian to win the Best Director award at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, is directing, writing, and producing again, including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Gong Yoo, who returned from season 1, and Lim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Kyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Seo-hwan, and Jo Yu-ri, who are newly joining season 2.

Lee Jung-jae, who played Ki-hoon who was the winner of the 'Squid Game' in season 1, will participate in the game again in season 2, said "The view of Ki-hoon has completely changed. The goal became so clear that it was someone else. He has been transformed into such a person. I go looking for the frontman with the determination that I must stop the game. I got to play an unbelievable situation, too."

Above all, after receiving great love worldwide, it seems that he must have felt mentally burdened by producing season 2. Lee Jung-jae said, `Season 2 is newer, story-wise richer, and viewers will expect it. As I filmed it, I thought that it would be better to express the elements that I thought were unique and good in season 1 well in season 2. I think it would be more greedy to do something better and do something new.

He then tried to capture the good feelings he had in season 1. Viewers around the world are likely to feel the elements that were good for season 1 again. The elements of the game that I enjoyed in season 1 are also included in season 2, he said, proud of the fun, but laughed, `When I met with reporters today, I felt a lot of pressure to do well.'

Season 2 of Squid Game will be released on Netflix on Dec. 26.
