On Chinese content review site Douvan (豆瓣), a review screen for Netflix's original series 'Squid Game 2' was created even before its release, and more than 60,000 reviews have been left until recently.
Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University pointed out that it was the case when the `Squid Game 1' was released, and in China, the `Thief City Hall' is now a daily situation,' adding, `It's even more absurd that I don't feel any shame.'
In particular, Professor Seo criticized that `It is also a big problem that we have used the portrait rights of Korean Wave stars who appeared in K contents in China, made fake products, and sold them as their profit structure.'
In response, Professor Seo stressed that it is time for the Chinese authorities to take an active action from now on.
During the last Beijing Winter Olympics, Chinese authorities conducted a strict crackdown on their citizens to prevent the protection and illegal distribution of intellectual property rights regarding the Olympic mascot 'BingDun'.
Professor Seo said "It's not that the Chinese authorities don't know like this. "It is true that I have overlooked the "illegal viewing" of K contents even though I know it."
In addition, he added that `the Chinese authorities must first respect the content of other countries and must crack down on the illegal activities of their citizens.'
