'Harbin' Nears 3 Million Viewers as 'Bogota' Debuts Strong in New Year's Box Office

According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater tickets on the 1st, 'Harbin' mobilized 212,408 people on December 31, 2024 to keep the top spot in the overall box office. The cumulative audience of 'Harbin' is 2,755,267. On the same day, 'Bogota' settled in second place with 97,296 (accumulated 109,948 including the preview).
Harbin', which succeeded in solidifying first place, is a work in 1909, depicting the breathtaking pursuit and doubt between those heading to Harbin and those who pursue it for one purpose. Hyun Bin, Park Jung-min, Cho Woo-jin, Jeon Yeo-bin, Park Hoon, Yoo Jae-myung, and Lee Dong-wook appeared, and director Woo Min-ho of 『Insiders"Namsan's managers" took the megaphone.
Released on Christmas Eve on December 24th last year, 'Harbin' was crowned as a salvation film that saved the winter theater district by mobilizing 380,000 people on the first day. After the pandemic, the opening score (219,445) of the best Korean movie in December and the biggest box office hit in 2023 by director Kim Sung-soo, and the opening score (36129) of last year's biggest box office hit 'Pamyo' (director Jang Jae-hyun) also exceeded, heralding a mega hit.

This was faster than 'Seoul Spring' and added a tie record with 'Avatar: The Way of Water' (22, directed by James Cameron). Now 'Harbin' is only 244,733 people left until the 3 million mark. It is expected to succeed in 3 million touchdowns without difficulty today (1st), the first day of the new year.
