"I was going to change the color of my sportswear to orange."

Netflix Series 'Squid Game 2'Artistic Director Chae Kyung-sun told the behind-the-scenes story about 'Green Gymwear' which became the symbol of the series.

On the morning of the 16th, art director Chae Kyung-sun, music director Jung Jae-il, and cinematographer Kim Ji-yong met with Sports Chosun to talk about filming on Netflix 'Squid Game 2'.




At the meeting, art director Chae Kyung-sun said, `At first, I suggested changing my sportswear to sky blue"I wanted to create a different atmosphere through new attempts", he explained. But in the end, he decided to retain the original design that his fans loved by taking advantage of the original's originality"When I think about it now, it's a really good choice not to change it."

Director Kim Ji-yong said, "(I) strongly opposed it with the heart of a fan of Season 1."I thought that the iconic sportswear design of Season 1 should be continued in Season 2 to maintain the identity of the work while being familiar to fans."," he added.

The production team considered changes not only in gym clothes but also in the existing mask design and the color of the accommodation, but decided to save the elements of the original work in order not to undermine fans' expectations and the originality of the work. Director Chae said "We have expanded and elaborated existing settings, emphasizing details such as O and X lighting in the accommodation."




The Netflix series 'Squid Game 2' tells the story of Ki-hoon (Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the game after vowing revenge, and the fierce battle between the frontman (Lee Byung-hun), who greets him, and the real game that begins again. It recorded 26.3 million viewers (view time divided by the total running time of the work) from the 6th to the 12th, maintaining the No. 1 English and non-English integration in the Netflix Global TOP 10 series, and continues to respond explosively on the Top 10 list of 93 countries around the world.
