"As soon as I saw the two characters, I immediately thought of Park Jung-min and Jisoo," Park said at a production presentation for the Coupang Play series 'Newtopia' held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul on the morning of the 7th.
'Newtopia' is a story about soldier Jae-yoon and a bear lord running to each other across downtown Seoul, where they were attacked by zombies, and Yoon Sung-hyun, the director of the films 'Watchmen' and 'Time for the Hunt', took the megaphone.
Director Yoon will present a fresh world view that exquisitely combines Apocalypse and romance. He "I've always liked zombie stuff. There was also a time when I was planning because I wanted to do zombie movies after finishing 'Watchmen'. I wanted to do zombie stuff for a very long time, so I was hooked from the first time I saw the script."
As for the reason for casting Park Jung-min and Ji-Soo, "Zombies are zombies, but I felt the main characters were fresh." As soon as I saw Jaeyoon's role, I immediately thought of Park Jung-min, and I developed the character more and more while imagining Park Jung-min. Jisoo is very humorous. I laughed out loud when I saw the YouTube content edited by the fans," he explained. "I couldn't hide my admiration even in the process of working together."
Meanwhile, the Coupang Play series 'Newtopia' will be released for the first time at 8 p.m. on February 7.
