'Melo Movie' depicts a movie-like romance in the process of young people who want to love and dream of finding each other, becoming inspiration, and overcoming each other's trauma. It is not just a love story, but it will form a consensus by capturing the concerns and growth that young people experience between reality and dreams.
Director Oh Choong-hwan, who directed 'Hotel Del Luna', 'Diva' and 'Startup', and writer Lee Na-eun, who wrote 'That Year, are drawing more attention. It is expected to become a new representative work of youth romance with sensuous production and storytelling that brings out delicate emotional lines.
Choi Woo-sik, Park Bo-young, Lee Joon-young, and Jeon Son-yi star in the movie "Melo Movie". Choi Woo-sik plays Ko Gyeom, a film buff who becomes a film critic in a minor role, and depicts a character who agonizes between reality and ideal. Although Park Bo-young did not want to, she breaks down into Kim Moobi, who became a film director, and builds a special relationship with Go Gyeom. The story of Hong Si-joon (Lee Joon-young), who has a sense of genius but lives as an unknown composer in reality, and his former lover and screenwriter Son Joo-ah (Jeon Son-ni) is added to form a more colorful emotional line.
The teaser trailer showed the first meeting between the two. Author Lee Na-eun, who wrote the play, said, "'Melo Movie' is a story of support and comfort to young people who are in conflict between reality and ideal." She wanted to show that we are all the main characters in the movie, "Life."," he said.
Netflix's first romance series of 2025 'MeloMovie' will be released worldwide on Feb. 14.
