Out of contact after failing to pay for medical care... Park, a former historical drama actor, is in controversy over his shocking behavior
A shocking story has been revealed that Park, a former historical drama actress, left her mother with dementia at a nursing hospital and even stopped contacting her without paying for it.

SBS's Curious Story Y, which aired on the 17th, highlighted the story of an elderly woman who could not leave a nursing home that was about to close.

On this day's broadcast, the story of a nursing home resident Yoon Mi-ja (pseudonym) and Choi Soon-nam (pseudonym), who were living like best friends, was told. The two had a lot in common, such as being in the teaching profession when they were young and having only one child. However, those who spent two and a half years together were about to say goodbye due to the closure of the nursing home.

The problem was that grandmother Choi's nursing home expenses had been delayed for more than a year, and even contact with her family had been lost. The nursing director complained that "13 million won has not been paid, but the grandmother's residence is a bigger problem than the money."

What is even more regrettable is that Mrs. Choi repeatedly wrote down the contact information of her child, Park, so as not to forget, and was always charging her cell phone and waiting for her son's call. The owner of a nearby restaurant testified that `Grandmother doesn't enter the house and keeps calling while waiting for her son on the street.'

Choi said her son was in the U.S., but it was confirmed that Park's mobile phone access records were made in Korea.

▶Park, who was once famous as a 'death actor', received a parent pension

Park once became popular in historical dramas as an actor who specializes in death, but at some point disappeared from broadcasting. According to his acquaintance, Park started his second life by challenging the restaurant business, but only debt remained due to the business failure. Since then, he has worked for a health functional food company and sought a comeback, but is now reported to have quit his job.

Actor Lee Chang-hoon recalled "He was quite recognizable at the time" and "I used to joke about when I should work together, but in the end, it was difficult to meet him because there was only one main character."

What is even more shocking is that Park was receiving her mother's teaching pension. Because of this, Mrs. Choi was not even able to receive state support. The nursing director said "Park never sent medical expenses on time, and he sent 5 million won for the last time and has been unpaid since then."

▶Late explanation… a police investigation is scheduled to begin

The production team of viewed this situation as abandonment and neglect abuse and connected it with a specialized elderly protection agency. Mr. Park, who was contacted afterwards, avoided contact with the nursing home because of the delayed medical expenses"It was difficult to communicate with people due to panic disorder and depression. But I'll repay you every month", he explained.

The senior protection agency reissued Choi's bank account and took measures to receive the civil servants pension directly. It also said it will determine whether Park's behavior constitutes abuse through a police investigation.
