'Squid Game 2' Breaks Records with 500M Hours in Debut Week, Tops Netflix Charts

"Squid Game Season 2" has achieved results that exceed the previous record. It has become the most successful non-English TV show in Netflix's history by renewing the first week of viewing (448.73 million hours) set by the fourth week of September 2021 (20-26th) Squid Game Season 1 in two years. On a weekly basis, it ranked second all-time after 571.76 million hours (first week of October) held by Squid Game Season 1.
By country, 'Squid Game Season 2' received overwhelming responses. It proved its popularity worldwide, ranking first in a total of 92 countries, including the United States, France, Japan, India, and Australia.
The success of 'Squid Game Season 2' was not just a drama. Season 1, which was released in 2021, also rose back to third place in the fourth week of December thanks to the success of its follow-up, writing the myth of 'reversal'. Season 1 recorded 671 million hours of viewers per week and 8.1 million views.
In addition, related games also joined the box office. Mobile Game 'Squid Game: Unleashed' reconfirmed the series' global popularity by winning first place in the App Store Action Game category in 57 countries.

The first place in history was 'Squid Game Season 1', which accumulated 2.252 billion viewers.
