On the 8th, ENA 'Jongwon Baek's Les Misérables', the final result of 'Business War 10 Days', the last gateway to the semifinals, was revealed. For 10 days, the challengers competed for survival by operating food booths at the Andong International Mask Dance Festival divided into Japanese, meat, Chinese, and Western classes. From beginners with no business experience to participants with passion for the restaurant industry, various people struggled to survive.
After the first business, the performance of each team was sharply divided. On the first day of sales, the No. 1 Western table, No. 2 Japanese table, No. 3 Chinese table, and No. 4 Meat table were ranked. While the Western class, where beginners gathered, achieved unexpected results, the meat class changed the recipe arbitrarily and was inexperienced in serving customers, ranking at the bottom. The Chinese food group had to solve the problem of supply and demand of materials, and the Japanese food group had to solve the problem of breathing between team members.
CEO Jongwon Baek announced that he would set seven days of the 10-day business war as a trial and error period and determine the final ranking based on the total sales of the last three days. As a result, challengers gained business experience by changing prices and menus. However, in the midst of endless spells and hard work, my physical strength has reached its limit.
Western Class 06 Kim Kook-heon visited the emergency room due to leg pain and showed tears of regret to his team members. In response, Yoon Nam-no, the homeroom chef, said "Don't think it's damaging. You can pay it back later," he comforted. But physical fatigue was not the only problem. Conflict erupted among the mentally driven challengers. Meat Class 17 Oh Kang-tae and 19 Kim Hyun-joon eventually exchanged abusive language and even fought a fist fight, and Oh Kang-tae left the food booth while operating and considered giving up the challenge. He managed to strengthen his teamwork, but this was reflected in his grades.
On the eighth day of the business, a secret evaluation team made up of restaurant industry veterans appeared. Those with extensive business experience, such as Hong Tak-jip and Yeondon, evaluated the challengers' business attitudes. The evaluation team praised Joo Hyun-wook of the 16th Chinese class, who worked silently without shaking, and Choi Jung-hyun of the 08 Japanese class, who showed an active attitude.
On the last trading day, the challengers desperately attracted customers until the moment the sales tally ended. With the total sales of the last three days determining their survival, their efforts to sell even one more meal have become even fiercer. Among the final results, the lunch group (03 Jeon Dong-jin, 16 Joo Hyun-wook) ranked first with sales of KRW 1,869,600. The Japanese class, which ranked second by a difference of just 5,300 won, earned 1,869,300 won, and the third place was the Western class with 17,317,500 won. Meat, which ranked fourth, suffered a setback with the lowest sales of 10,558,800 won.
The game was decided by a small margin. All the Chinese meals survived, but 15 Yoo Ji-min was eliminated from the Japanese class, and 06 Kim Kook-heon, who struggled with injuries, was eliminated from the Western class. Meat class, whose teamwork collapsed, did not survive in the end. The challengers, who shared their sorrows, broke up with the losers and wept.
Six semi-finalists were confirmed on the show. The surviving challengers are 02 Choi Yoon-sung, 03 Jeon Dong-jin, 04 Yang Kyung-min, 08 Choi Jung-hyun, 14 Son Woo-sung, and 16 Joo Hyun-wook, who will compete more fiercely for tickets to the finals.
The 11th episode of ENA 'Jongwon Baek's Les Miserables', which heralded a stronger survival and moving story, will air at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
