Lee Jin-woo met with Sports Chosun on the afternoon of the 6th and responded to an interview to commemorate the end of the original Genie TV drama 'Namib'.
'Namib' is a drama about the star birth project of Kang Soo-hyun (played by Ko Hyun-jung), a fired star producer, and Yoo Jin-woo (Ryeoreun), a released long-term trainee. In the play, Lee Jin-woo plays Shim Jin-woo, the only child of Kang Soo-hyun and Shim Jun-seok (played by Yoon Sang-hyun). Shim Jin-woo is a person who loses his hearing due to a car accident as a child and is worried about his parents, but he is alone in the bullying that occurs inside the school. In the final episode, he dramatically overcame precarious family relationships and showed the side of a growing character who achieves his dreams while also protecting friendships.
In the interview, Lee Jin-woo learned a lot about Yoon Sang-hyun, whom he met as his father in the play"I could see and hear the true adult up close." In particular, he said he heard a lot of advice about not only acting but also life in general from Yoon Sang-hyun.
He "There's something the senior said that impressed me the most. `Don't try to do anything.'"The biggest advice came to give up the idea of expressing something when acting."," he recalled. "While playing a character with a hearing impairment, he did not try to express it too intentionally, but naturally tried to exist as the character."," he added.
Lee Jin-woo said he learned a lot from his personal conversation with Yoon Sang-hyun. He said "I talked about life as well as my troubles as an actor" and "I felt much lighter after being advised not to think too much" Lee Jin-woo, who is deeply concerned, said "I'm trying to relieve unnecessary worries by listening to my seniors."
In this work, Lee Jin-woo, who collaborated with Yoon Sang-hyun as father and son, said, "I really enjoyed filming with Yoon Sang-hyun"They danced on the set, lifted the atmosphere, and always gave us pleasant energy." In fact, he was very comfortable like his father, which helped him to immerse himself in.
