Jisoo appeared as Yeongju in the first and second episodes of the Coupang Play series 'Newtopia', which was first released on the 7th, and made a strong impression with her charming character transformation.
'Newtopia' tells the story of soldier Jae-yoon (Park Jung-min) and Gomsin Yeong-ju (Jisoo) running to each other across downtown Seoul, where they are attacked by zombies. It provides fresh fun with the never-before-seen 'zombom' genre that combines zombie objects with bold visuals, humor, and romance.
In the first episode, Yeongju, who joined the company for a month, expressed sympathy with his realistic acting of waiting anxiously for his military boyfriend while adapting to social life. Young-ju, who decided to eventually have time in the uncertain future, opened up his sorrow that he had accumulated with a tearful voice on the phone with Jae-yoon. When Jae-yoon accepted the breakup, the image of the lord pouring out tears caused a salty feeling.
In front of the breakup, Young-joo was immersed in memories while looking at the photos he took with Jae-yoon, or failed to concentrate properly at a meal with a senior who was aiming next to him, showing unwavering love for Jae-yoon.
In the second episode, where zombies appear in earnest, Ji-soo's fighting spirit, which is willing to show a visual attitude, stood out. When a zombie with an eerie visual suddenly rushed right before his eyes, the lord screamed horrifically and even burst into tears to maximize the thrill. After being frightened, the lord, who came to his senses for a while, amplified his chewy fun with his quirky and courageous appearance of checking the life and death of zombies and asking passers-by for help.
In an urgent situation, Young-joo also drew attention with her affectionate relationship chemistry with Jae-yoon. The lord worried about life and death, leaving a text to Jae-yoon "I'll come find you" In response to his senior's suggestion to go to the police box, he strongly declared that he would go to the tower where Jae-yoon is located, raising questions about future developments.
Jisoo, who challenged the zombie movie through 'Newtopia', digested the bouncy lord character like a custom-made suit. Expectations are high on how Jisoo will continue to receive favorable reviews from global viewers.
Meanwhile, Jisoo will make a solo comeback in two years with the release of a new mini-album 'AMORTAGE' through domestic and international online music sites at 2 p.m. on the 14th.
'Newtopia' starring Jisoo will be released every Friday at 8 p.m. on Coupang Play.
