In the 8th episode of 'Motel California', which aired on the 1st, the reason why Kang-hee (Lee Se-young) had no choice but to push Yeonsu (Ninewoo) and the shocking past of having to leave Hana-eup were revealed. In the meantime, Yeon-soo confessed to Kang-hee "Let's go out together" despite opposition from Su-ji (Ji-won), making viewers' hearts flutter. The ratings were 3.4% nationwide and 3.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and in the ending scene where Yeonsu kissed Kang-hee and confessed her love, it soared to the highest viewership of 4.1% for a moment.
At the beginning of the broadcast, the two, who stayed overnight in Kang-hee's room in Seoul, repeatedly pushed them away as if they were getting closer. At Kanghee's provocation, Yeonsu drew the line, saying, `What kind of kiss between friends?' and Kanghee opened up the atmosphere while drinking. The tension between the two reached its peak, but the momentary opportunity was canceled as Yeonsu fell asleep in the spirit of alcohol. The next day, Yeonsu suggested Kang-hee spend another day together, and Kang-hee also responded, "Let's test if we can start again."
However, Hana-eup has already gone crazy. This is because Suzy noticed that the two had left for Seoul together and turned the village upside down. Without knowing this, Kang-hee and Yeonsu enjoyed dating while reminiscing about the past, but the dreamy day ended with a phone call from Suzy.
In the meantime, a shocking truth was revealed. In a conversation between Suzy and Chun-pil (Choi Min-soo), it was revealed that Kang-hee's mother and Yeonsu's father were in an affair and died in an accident during the night trip. Kanghee and Yeonsu had the trauma of witnessing the accident in person that day. Yeonsu grabbed Kang-hee, saying "It's going to be different from the old days", but Kang-hee declared that she would remain friends as if she had given up, saying "We can't change parents".
Gossip surrounding the two who returned to Hana-eup intensified. Yeonsu neglected the rumor of Nanwoo to prevent criticism directed at Kang-hee, and Suzy still did not stop attacking Kang-hee. Eventually, even the construction work that Kang-hee was in progress was stopped due to opposition from her classmates in Hana-eup, and he decided to leave for Seoul, saying "If I were there, things would continue to be blocked."
At a time when everything was just off the hook, Yeonsu began an unexpected counterattack. He told Suzy that he liked Kanghee's mom more than her mom since she was young", he confessed that he had been dragged around by Suzy because of his guilt. And "Now I think I've paid it all back. I can't stand it anymore. He rebelled against Suzy for the first time, declaring that he would no longer be friends with Kang-hee.
Yeonsu, who immediately visited Kanghee, has something to say" and ran down the street of Hana-eup holding Kang-hee's hand. And after hugging Kang-hee and kissing her passionately in an alley where there was no one, he confessed his heart that he had endured "Let's go out with him".
Expectations are high on how the two, who finally chose love against taboos and fate, will end and the direction of emotions that 'Mortel California' will portray.
