 Melo Movie. That year, we

They look alike, but they have another charm. Author Lee Na-eun, who created "That Year We Are", immediately came out with her next film, "Melo Movie". As a new writer, he released a highly popular online work titled `That Year, We Are' and this time, he collaborated with Netflix to introduce a new work. Although his previous work smells very strong, it also raises questions about the next story because it contains the stories of another youth.

The original Netflix series 'Melo Movie' (played by Lee Na-eun, directed by Oh Choong-hwan) was partially released to reporters. A total of three episodes from the 1st to the 3rd episodes were revealed to the reporters first, and the movie depicts a movie-like romance in which young people who want to love and dream find each other, become inspiration, and overcome their trauma. Writer Lee Na-eun was reunited with Choi Woo-sik, who was with 'That Year We Are', and director Oh Choong-hwan, who directed 'Hotel Del Luna' and 'Startup', grew up together. Also, Park Bo-young joined 'MeloMovie', raising expectations.

Released until the third episode, 'MeloMovie' has a strong scent of 'We were' that year. There are more than one or two similar parts, such as the sudden reunification of the two men and women after a mysterious breakup and the fact that they live in one neighborhood. Even the familiar scent cannot be ignored in that the narration of Go Gyeom (Choi Woo-sik) and Kim Mo-bi (Park Bo-young) in the play is used as a major element of the play and the story unfolds through their mouths.

Their narratives are not special either. Earlier in 'We Are in', Choi Woong (Choi Woo-sik) and Kook Yeon-soo (Kim Da-mi) suffered a breakup due to family history, and the situation of conflict for this reason is also repeated in 'MeloMovie'. Rather than continuing his love with Kim Moobi, the reason why Go-gyeom has to give up and focus on 'present (real life)' emerges. As their relationship continues anew, it creates an atmosphere like a bright romantic comedy, but it is also a development seen in 'We Are That Year'.

This familiarity can be both beneficial and poisonous. As much as 'we were especially loved by the younger generation 'MeloMovie' seems to be well loved by this generation. It is not much different from the lives of viewers that Go Gyeom and Kim Moo-bi experience 'present life', and the intersection of realistic emotions can also form a consensus. There is also an opinion that only a limited generation of sympathy will be received because it was made by a young writer, but the anxiety is offset because director Oh Chung-hwan appropriately holds this center.

Above all, it is the actors' acting that increases the empathy of the drama. Park Bo-young's acting fills the script that has a loophole somewhere. In fact, it may be pointed out that it is unlikely that the character's name is "Kim Movie" and that a person who hated movies will debut as a film director, but Park Bo-young's acting ability to portray Kim Movie as dry and sometimes selfish as a real person persuades this. While Choi Woo-sik depicts a two-sided character that is bright on the outside but dark on the inside, Park Bo-young perfectly penetrates viewers' hearts with her unique loveliness as a weapon, making them wonder about Kim Mo-bi from the 3rd to the 10th.

Other than these, there are many characters. There are also Hong Si-joon (Lee Joon-young) and Son Joo-ah (Jeon Son-ni) who will fill the sense of reality while Go Gyeom and Kim Mooby repeated the meeting several times as if it were a coincidence. I'm not particularly curious about their stories when I watched the release until the third episode, but anyway, the real-life relationship they will show is also expected to play a big role. What emotions 'MeloMovie' can contain the story of the two couples can also be a point to watch.

Director Oh Choong-hwan predicted 'MeloMovie' that `It will not be a plausible success story or a love story, but it will be comforted through characters who encounter, get hurt, and grow up in reality.' Expectations are also high that 'MeloMovie' can use the sense of deja vu with 'That Year We're ' as a martial art instead of a poison.
