Is there any difference just because the outer packaging is changed. KBS's late-night music program `The Seasons' selected actor Park Bo-gum as the replacement MC for singer Lee Young-ji.

According to KBS, Park Bo-gum will be the MC of 'The Seasons-Park Bo-gum's Cantabile', which will premiere on March 14. He met with viewers every Friday night as the host to lead the seventh season of The Seasons.

In particular, Park Bo-gum drew attention in that he was the first actor MC in the history of 'The Seasons'. Debuting in the film 'Blind' in 2011, he has shown consistent love for music so far, participating in OSTs, releasing music, and appearing in musicals while acting. In addition, he showed outstanding singing skills and piano performance in 'Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook' and 'The Seasons-Zico's Artist' and has a special relationship with KBS late-night music programs. It is rumored that he even named the program title himself with deep affection for 'The Seasons', which will be in charge of hosting in the future. 'Cantabile' is a musical term that means 'Like Singing' and is also related to the KBS2 music drama 'Tomorrow too Cantabile', which Park Bo-gum starred in 11 years ago.

Starting with 'Park Jae-beom's Drive' in February 2023, 'The Seasons' has featured 'Choi Jung-hoon's Night Park', 'Akmu's OnalObam', 'Lee Hyo-ri's Red Carpet', 'Zico's Artist', and 'Lee Young-ji's Rainbow'. It raised expectations for the program by recruiting stars as MCs, but fell into a swamp of sluggishness, recording 0-1% ratings for two consecutive years. Although the KBS late-night music program was the first to introduce a season-based method, it has not been able to attract steady attention from viewers. The last episode of 'Lee Young-ji's Rainbow', which aired on the 21st, also left forlornly with a 1.1% viewer rating (Nilson Korea's national households).

Prior to the airing of 'The Seasons', the production team set the goal of "We will spare no effort to ensure that MCs of different genres and colors continue to serve as a bridge between musicians and viewers." Over the past few years, due to the diversification of media such as OTT platforms and YouTube, the number of time-independent viewing has increased, and as a result, the importance of watching live is gradually decreasing. With 'The Seasons' facing a wall of low ratings every season, attention is being paid to whether the new MC Park Bo-gum can be used well as a relief pitcher.
