'Namib' is a drama about the star birth project of Kang Soo-hyun (played by Ko Hyun-jung), a fired star producer, and Yoo Jin-woo (Ryeoreun), a released long-term trainee. In the play, Lee Jin-woo plays Shim Jin-woo, the only child of Kang Soo-hyun and Shim Jun-seok (played by Yoon Sang-hyun). Shim Jin-woo is a person who loses his hearing due to a car accident as a child and is worried about his parents, but he is alone in the bullying that occurs inside the school. In the final episode, he dramatically overcame precarious family relationships and showed the side of a growing character who achieves his dreams while also protecting friendships.
Lee Jin-woo said, "It feels like yesterday when I waited for the first broadcast with excitement, but it's already over. I'm sad to see it's over."I learned a lot from "Namib" and my affection for acting grew even more."
He added to his acting depth by playing Shim Jin-woo, who has a hearing impairment in the play. In order to immerse myself in the character, I made thorough preparations by referring to movies 'Coda', dramas 'Twinkle Watermelon', and webtoons 'I'm deaf'. He said he was deeply immersed in the role to the extent that he had a habit of looking at the other actor's mouth even after filming.
Lee Jin-woo said, "I was able to feel a little bit of the discomfort that people with hearing impairments experience in their daily lives"Even during filming, the exchange of eyes with the other actor naturally changed, and I developed a habit of reading the shape of my mouth in everyday life." He added that "I learned from this work that acting is not just a skill, but a process of truly understanding the life of the character."
In particular, he left a deep impression by working with Yoon Sang-hyun and his father in this work. He learned a lot from Yoon Sang-hyunThe advice of "Don't try to express it when acting" struck me greatly. I realized that it is important to understand the character as it is and express it naturally." It is also said that Yun Sang-hyun brightened the atmosphere on the set, "He liked to dance, so he often danced and created a pleasant atmosphere on the spot. He recalled, "Actually, he treated me comfortably like my father, which helped me a lot to immerse myself in."
As for the relationship with Ryeo Woon and Kim Ji Woo "I was able to enjoy filming with actors of the same age"I decided to study my own voice tone because my brother's voice tone was impressive."." Lee Jin-woo showed his affection for acting and also revealed his future goals.
