On the afternoon of the 18th, the movie 'It's okay, it's okay, it's okay' held a press conference at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, ahead of its release on the 26th. Director Kim Hye-young and actors Ire, Jin Seo-yeon and Jung Soo-bin, who directed the event, attended the event.
The movie 'It's okay, it's okay, it's okay" depicts the friendship and growth of friends who learn to dance with 'Nari' (Jeong Soo-bin), who feels a strange inferiority complex to In-young, centering on the main character 'In-young' (Re).
The film first attracted attention abroad, receiving invitations from 50 countries around the world, including the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, the 1st Ho Chi Minh International Film Festival, the 14th Beijing International Film Festival, and the 71st Sydney Film Festival. It received a positive response by winning the Berlin International Film Festival, and later received favorable reviews at various international film festivals, proving the potential of Korean films once again.
Director Kim Hye-young analyzed that "the bright and positive atmosphere of the movie seems to have made the audience feel good.' There were many questions about the reality of education and the social atmosphere that forced perfection in Korea. However, this pressure seems to have left a deep impression on overseas audiences because it was a part that not only students from Korea but also from other countries could sympathize with," he said.
Actor Jin Seo-yeon also said, `I still remember my moment in Berlin. I remember going to the film festival without the distribution being confirmed and taking a taxi back to my accommodation with the actors. I was even more moved to receive an award that I didn't expect."
Jung Soo-bin also said "We didn't understand German, so we didn't even know we won the award at the moment of winning the award. It was even more touching because it was such an unexpected award."
Ire, who plays the main character Inyoung in It's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, he started practicing dance two months before filming. He practiced with the choreography team and learned the movements because he didn't want to look clumsy in the dance scene. I remember spending time and preparing hard for the shooting."
Jung Soo-bin, who plays a rival 'Nari', also confessed that he had a lot of pressure to practice dancing. "I practiced even harder because I was in charge of the first-place center. It was a different experience because I could experience the way the dancers lived."
Jin Seo-yeon, who plays the cool-headed director leading the art troupe 'Seola', practiced for two and a half months for the solo dance scene. "I felt a lot of pressure because I was new to dance. In particular, I paid more attention because there was a scene where I performed a dance alone rather than a group dance together.
In the movie, Ire and Jin Seo-yeon worked together in a priestly relationship. In response, Jin Seo-yeon said, "He was a cold and cold character in the play, but he is not that scary in reality. The actor was so cheerful and lively that naturally good chemistry came out." Again "The senior always cared for actors, including me, to act comfortably on the spot. Even during dance practice, he always made sure there were no inconveniences."
It also told the story of actor Son Seok-gu, who made a special appearance as 'Dongwook' in the movie. Director Kim Hye-young formed a relationship in "Melo's constitution" and wanted to film more scenes with actor Son Seok-gu while working on it. 'Dongwook' character is playful and humorous, so I suggested him to appear because I thought he would go well with him", he explained.
"The shooting with actor Son Seok-gu took place in one day," Lee said. I had to film every scene as soon as I met him for the first time, but he treated me comfortably in a situation that could be awkward, so I was able to act naturally," he said.
'It's okay, it's okay, it's okay' is not just a growth movie. The characters in the play experience failure and frustration, but in the end, they are comforted by each other's existence and grow.
Jin Seo-yeon said, "This movie is a story that tells us that it's okay despite giving up and failing." "Korea is a country with a high suicide rate. Social obsession with success is strong and easily influenced by the external environment. But sometimes I wanted to send a message that it's okay not to care about those things."
