tvN held a production presentation for the new Saturday drama 『Potato Research Institute" (written by Kim Ho-ho, directed by Kang Il-soo and Shim Jae-hyun) at the Ramada Hotel in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 27th. Director Kang Il-soo, Lee Sun-bin, Kang Tae-oh, Lee Hak-ju, Kim Ga-eun and Shin Hyun-seung attended the event.
'Potato Research Institute' is a healing romance comedy drama in which a cold principled white tiger (Kang Tae-oh) appears in the life of a potato research institute who cries and laughs on potatoes, and Mi-kyung (Lee Sun-bin), who is all about potatoes.
Director Kang Il-soo, who directed the movie, thought that there would be a dramatic fun from the strange combination of words called "'Potato Research Institute". I thought about romance comedy because it's a genre I haven't done for a while, but the fun of the item attracted me. What I felt during the actual report was that the researchers were not usually in the hard researcher atmosphere we know, but in an interesting atmosphere. My academic background is a doctorate, but there are people like old men who can be seen in the countryside. I thought it was interesting at that point. I was curious about what kind of characters would be made and what kind of drama stories would come up when this common plant called potato and the science of research institute met, but writer Kim Ho-ho showed me an interesting script", he explained.
