Sung Dong-il, I'm tired of being annoyed from the first day of language training (Shalashala)

Actor Sung Dong-il expressed his anger from the first day of language training, drawing laughter.

JTBC's new entertainment program 'Before It's Too Late - Shalashala' (hereinafter 'Shalashala') which first aired at 10:20 p.m. on the 5th depicts Sung Dong-il, Kim Kwang-gyu, Um Ki-jun, Jang Hyuk, and Shin Seung-hwan taking their first steps into studying English language.

Prior to the full-fledged language training, Sung Dong-il "Our generation learned the alphabet and took cursive tests in the first year of middle school. But my children even talked about mistranslation after seeing the subtitles. I tend to believe in subtitles, I know a lot of words, but I can't talk to them. I think all languages around the world are possible with four words. Then, his son Jun told his mother that he could do everything in four words, and he said, `Daddy can do everything in four words.'

Sung Dong-il, Kim Kwang-gyu, Um Ki-jun, Jang Hyuk, and Shin Seung-hwan arrived in London to study English, but the road to their accommodation was never smooth. The members, who had to travel to Cambridge by public transportation without the help of the production team, seemed to have started relatively smoothly under the leadership of Sung Dong-il and Jang Hyuk, but unexpected difficulties such as mistakes in misunderstanding the platform and communication errors with Londoners occurred one after another. In the end, Sung Dong-il, who looked tired when he was trapped in the London subway for more than three hours, said "How long are you going to go around?" I'm sick and tired of being around. Let's just take a taxi."

After 18 hours of struggle, the five finally arrived at their Cambridge accommodation. But it was not a cozy bed or a hot dinner that welcomed them, but an empty kitchen. Late at night, when all the stores were already closed, they eventually performed a true 'survival mukbang' by inhaling cup noodles and aged kimchi that Sung Dong-il had airlifted.

The next day, the actors headed to downtown Cambridge to get ready for school. However, Sung Dong-il, who learned that there was no bus arrival announcement unlike Korea, succeeded in receiving an instant city tour by naturally continuing free-talking with locals. Since then, the members have completely transformed into middle-aged students wearing Cambridge uniforms, which were their dreams. In particular, Sung Dong-il was excited, saying, `I was so jealous of college students wearing these clothes,' and the members who were watching also reacted excitedly, saying, `It seems like they have become real international students.'

Meanwhile, Kim Kwang-kyu, who was preparing for his first barbecue party the day before admission, was given an unexpected mission to go to his neighbor's house and borrow a torch. Kim Kwang-kyu, who rang the doorbell in tension, gained confidence in English by successfully communicating miraculously with his keen neighbor. After many twists and turns, the five actors hold their first barbecue in Cambridge, England. Among them, Sung Dong-il made a special visual steak, from perfect seasoning to elaborate roasting skills. In particular, when he completed 'mukji steak' with aged kimchi from Korea, Jang Hyuk exclaimed "This is a taste that could come out of a restaurant."

The average viewer rating for the first episode of 'Shalashala' recorded 2.6% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 2.3% in the country, marking a smooth start (provided by Nielsen Korea, based on paid households).
