SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 「Treasure Island」 (written by Lee Myung-hee/directed by Jin Chang-gyu/produced by Studio S, A2G Entertainment, and Purmir Workshop), which premieres on Feb. 21, is a life-full betting revenge battle in which Park Hyung-sik (played by Seo Dong-joo), who hacked 2 trillion won in political slush funds, fights for absolute evil that killed him and everything to destroy the world. It became the most anticipated film in the first half of 2025, foreshadowing a devastating combination of Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho (played by Yeom Jang-sun).
Heo Jun-ho, Korea's best actor, played Yeom Jang-sun, a vicious character who casually tramples others to protect what he holds in his hands in 「Treasure Island」. The main story of 「Treasure Island」 is that Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho, who hold each other's purse strings and lifeline, run without a brake to fill their desires and destroy their opponents. In particular, Heo Jun-ho is drawing keen attention, foreshadowing the all-time villain's passionate performance.
Heo Jun-ho said of the Yeom Jang-sun character "I think he's the worst character I've ever played. I started knowing that it was a villain, but as soon as I saw the script, I thought, 'What kind of human beings are there?I thought ' While asking back, he is clinging to the script to analyze the character. I've played villains in other works, but I'm a bad person who wants to get out of this character sooner than ever."
Yeom Jang-sun is a character of the all-time villain who is so bad that even veteran actor Huh Joon-ho is tongue-in-cheek. Heo Jun-ho's effort to draw this is also beyond imagination. Huh Joon-ho's vicious performance in the teaser video, which was released as if the effort shone, was overwhelming.
