MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Motel California' (script Lee Seo-yoon, director Kim Hyung-min and Lee Jae-jin, hereinafter 'Motel Calli') is a remodeling romance of the first love of the female protagonist, who was born in a motel in the countryside and grew up in a motel, reunites with her first love in her hometown, where she fled 12 years ago. The dense narrative based on Shim Yoon-seo's novel 'Home, Bitter Home', which was popular in 2019, the actors' good performance, and emotional directing gained even favorable reviews and established themselves as a drama that is the deadliest of conviction.
