'When Life Gives You Tangerines': 60 Billion KRW Production with IU & Park Bo-gum

Netflix held a production presentation for the new original series 'I've been completely fooled' (played by Lim Sang-chun, directed by Kim Won-seok) at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 5th. Director Kim Won-seok, IU, Park Bo-gum, Moon So-ri and Park Hae-joon attended the event.
"'Fully deceived' is a Netflix series that unravels the adventurous life of Ae-soon and Guansik born in Jeju in four seasons. Writer Lim Sang-chun, who wrote 'When the Camellia Blooms' and 'Ssam My Way', wrote, and director Kim Won-seok, who created 'My Mister', 'Misaeng' and 'Signal', took the megaphone. IU and Park Bo-gum appear as Ae-soon and Gwan-sik, respectively, and Moon So-ri and Park Hae-joon appear as adults Ae-soon and Gwan-sik.
Director Kim Won-seok said, `From the beginning, I paid tribute to my grandparents' generation and my parents' generation. And I made it with the hope that it would be a drama planned as a cheering song for our children's generation. I made it in the hope that the invisible wall between generations of genders would rise, but it would be broken down a little bit."
For Park Bo-gum, it has been a long time since the drama was aired. Park Bo-gum, who was discharged from the military in 2022, was the first to film and release 'I was completely deceived'. Park Bo-gum was a fan of writer Lim Sang-chun, and I came to film this work after I was discharged from the military, and I did it with the mindset that I could be with the director because I like director Kim Won-seok's direction and he is a person with sensitivity. I thought Ae-soon and Gwan-sik were lovely. Do you think you'll see your family in the future??I'm glad to be with you. I think it was a happy story, so I came to do this work together, and I came to do it because I thought it was a story that the fans could be with."
IU met a new drama six years after 'Hotel Del Luna' aired in 2019. It is also the first reunion with director Kim Won-seok since 'My Mister'. IU is the second to director Kim Won-seok and has been a fan of Im Sang-chun. I wanted to do it as soon as I was offered an appearance. I was in a hurry before I even read the script. After reading it, I wanted to appear so much that I couldn't stand it. I said I'd be on the show in less than a day."
IU's Park Bo-gum will work together for the first time in a drama. IU says, "We are friends of the same age, and we have known each other since we were teenagers. It was my first time to work together in earnest, but strangely, I wasn't nervous at all from the first shooting and felt so comfortable. Like Ae-soon and Gwan-sik, who have been in a relationship since they were young. I don't always do that to my partner, but I was able to share ideas with Mr. Bogum more comfortably than ever. It was a really good partner." Park Bo-gum first met at the commercial site in his teens, followed by a special appearance on 「Producer」 in his twenties, and in his thirties, he worked with him as he got older. It's not easy to meet a friend of the same age."

It is a production cost of 60 billion won. Director Kim Won-seok also expressed his cautious position on this at a time when masterpieces have tasted a series of failures. Director Kim Won-seok said, `It is true that we have included a lot. I tried to make it fun with the idea that there should be fun equivalent to the production cost, and that there should be fun enough to not waste the production cost. In that sense, the fun was spent on the film and the production cost on filming. You may know that it costs a lot of money just to build an open set by building an open set. Basically, as the cost of art changed from 60 years to 2025 by period, some money was spent as the art changed. There are actually quite a few VFXs that are more real than real in order to create a real situation to realize reality. Don't think about it, it seems like you're on the spot. I made it so that you can see it as if you were at the scene. It also cost quite a bit."
