Lucy will release her fifth mini album 'FROM.(from.)' through various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 14th. Lucy's new album has been released in about five months since the release of 「The Knight Who Can't Die and the Silk Cradle」 in March, and she has included a double title song for the first time since her debut.
The first title song 'Villain' is a modern rock genre that features Lucy's unique refreshing and powerful band sound. Through a change in the intensely bursting sound with perfect ending, the confused feelings of 'Villain' are captured without addition or subtraction.
The second title song 'ugly' expresses the rollercoaster-like emotional ups and downs of a speaker who calls himself 'ugly' with a dynamic guitar riff that repeats up and down. It is impressive that the jazz sound depicts the speaker's hardened heart melting away toward the second half of the song.
Among them, the music video of 'Villain' is released along with the sound source, and comedian Kim Kyung-wook has launched support. Kim Kyung-wook, who has been loved for his cheerful image, will perform a serious performance in this music video. Kim Kyung-wook, who appears as a stand-up comedian in the play, shows the irony of agonizing on and off the stage for public laughter even when he is not sure about himself. Through a series of processes, Kim Kyung-wook is expected to immerse himself in the message of 'Villain' that Lucy wants to deliver.
In addition to this, 'FROM.' contains a total of five songs, including 'Guardian Dance' as if the melody of the chorus repeated on an overwhelming scale was a representation of a goblin's dance, 'Guardian Dance', a soft rock genre that contains a message to start anew after burning all the burden, responsibility, and wounds felt by the speaker, and 'Fall Blossom', which looks back on Lucy's journey that began with flowers and talks about the next.
'FROM.' is an album by Lucy, whose debut single 'DEAR.' was released in May 2020. If Lucy is in full bloom with her debut song 'Flowering', 'FROM. promises a future in which the petals that fly after full bloom will bloom beautifully again. Cho Won-sang, the member who produced all of Lucy's albums, once again led the overall work, and Shin Kwang-il also participated in writing, composing, and arranging the track 'Without'. Attention is drawn to the message 'FROM.' that conveys a long lingering feeling with Lucy's own sympathy, comfort, and hope.
