NewJeans' 'OMG' and 'Attention' Hit Streaming Milestones on Spotify

NewJeans' mega-hit songs 'OMG' and 'Attention' have achieved significant milestones on Spotify. 

According to Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, the single album 'OMG' and its title track of the same name have been played 735,131,600 times as of the 30th of last month. This marks NewJeans' first single song to reach 700 million streams.

Additionally, 'Attention', one of the triple title tracks from their debut album 'New Jeans', was played 411,668,000 times on the same day. This makes 'Attention' the fifth NewJeans song to reach 400 million streams.

The two songs made a global impact upon their release. Released in early January last year, 'OMG' dominated two major domestic music charts along with 'Ditto', another track from the same album, and earned NewJeans, who had debuted only six months prior, a spot on the U.S. Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100'. Besides its popularity, 'OMG' was selected as one of the best songs of 2023 by leading foreign media such as US Consequence and AP.

The debut song 'Attention', released in August 2022, also caused a sensation on both domestic and international charts, becoming a massive hit. 'OMG' and 'Attention' have remained prominently on the charts in countries like Korea and Japan, demonstrating their enduring appeal.

NewJeans boasts a total of 12 songs with over a billion streams on Spotify. 'OMG' has been played over 700 million times, 'Ditto' over 600 million times, 'Super Shy' and 'Hype Boy' over 500 million times each, 'Attention' over 400 million times, and 'New Jeans', 'ETA', and 'Cookie' over 200 million times each. Additionally, 'Hurt', 'Cool With You', 'ASAP', and 'Get Up' have been streamed over 100 million times each. The cumulative number of Spotify streams for all NewJeans' songs so far is close to 4.8 billion.

Meanwhile, NewJeans' double single 'How Sweet' and Japan's debut single 'Supernatural' continue to perform well on domestic and international charts, even though two months and one month have passed since their respective releases. NewJeans will be performing at the halftime show of the Munich vs Tottenham match at 8 p.m. on the 3rd at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
